I Believe: Concept Collage

In Graphic Design, we were assigned to create a concept collage that portrays "I Believe..."
My take was that I believe through believing in god, anything is possible. Through him we have the potential to do immaculate things because he gives us the strength to do so. Like, creating a World of equality and rights for all people as did Rev, Martin Luther King Jr. Or going to the moon, Running a mile in under 4 minutes and being in the Olympics with a wheel chair. These are all things years before now, were said to be impossible, insane to think about. Yet these are things that are possible. I believe through god we are able to accomplish these things.

Typography self portrait

In our assignment for Graphic Design, pictures were taken of ourselves in high contrasts of light, edited in photoshop, and then through AI, created bodies of type to replicate my photo. The first photo is with the photo still slightly there, the second photo is with the photo deleted.

So, I was playing domino's with my family, and came up with this idea, because the sides were unbalanced in number.

Ifriday- Blur

Basically, for this Ifriday I chose to do the actually 'blurring' on the computer, while drawing and scanning the picture that I would later blur. This is how it came to be.

skinny- Ifriday

For ifriday, I used the term skinny with the meaning of gossip and having the insight on the latest information. I thought the best way to show that was through magazines.

Tshirt design

In my graphic design class we had to come up with t-shirt slogans and designs. I'm an extremely logical thinker. I always tend to think with my head and never follow my heart. To some, that's a negative quality, but I've found in some situations, it's pretty helpful. That's how this T-shirt came to be.

Arrow project

We were assigned to make 24 different types of arrows, this being my second post of this project. I tried to use the arrows to create two bigger arrows, but its harder to see the bigger picture in the smaller ones. Hopefully you like it.

Ifriday- Pattern

For this weeks Ifriday I chose to use DNA, because everything has some type of genetic pattern. Were learning about it in Bio right now, so I thought I'd put it in use for the Ifriday this week. I tried to recreate the double helix, but in a different way.

Illustration Friday, Infinite

For the Illustration Friday post this week, infinite, I chose to draw the World. I had an extremely hard time with the word this week, and I couldn't think of anything, but I got to thinking, and I was thinking about America, our freedoms. Were studying that right now it school, and how grateful we should be for what we have all the things that we have. Our country was founded on freedom, and opportunities to do anything we could dream up, infinite possibilities.

Ifriday Sept 11th- Welcome

Dream Variations

In graphic design this week, we were assigned to pick a poem, lyrics, or short story and represent it through some type of drawing. I chose to use a Langston Hughes poem, one of my favorites actually, and create the drawing through it. I chose Langston Hughes mostly because I love the time of the Harlem Renaissance, and his infulence on this time period. Hopefully you like it!

I chose his poem dream variations:

To fling my arms wide
In some place of the sun,
To whirl and to dance
Till the white day is done.
Then rest at cool evening
Beneath a tall tree
While night comes on gently,
Dark like me—
That is my dream!

To fling my arms wide
In the face of the sun,
Dance! Whirl! Whirl!
Till the quick day is done.
Rest at pale evening . . .
A tall, slim tree . . .
Night coming tenderly
Black like me.
