Illustration Friday, Infinite

For the Illustration Friday post this week, infinite, I chose to draw the World. I had an extremely hard time with the word this week, and I couldn't think of anything, but I got to thinking, and I was thinking about America, our freedoms. Were studying that right now it school, and how grateful we should be for what we have all the things that we have. Our country was founded on freedom, and opportunities to do anything we could dream up, infinite possibilities.

Ifriday Sept 11th- Welcome

Dream Variations

In graphic design this week, we were assigned to pick a poem, lyrics, or short story and represent it through some type of drawing. I chose to use a Langston Hughes poem, one of my favorites actually, and create the drawing through it. I chose Langston Hughes mostly because I love the time of the Harlem Renaissance, and his infulence on this time period. Hopefully you like it!

I chose his poem dream variations:

To fling my arms wide
In some place of the sun,
To whirl and to dance
Till the white day is done.
Then rest at cool evening
Beneath a tall tree
While night comes on gently,
Dark like me—
That is my dream!

To fling my arms wide
In the face of the sun,
Dance! Whirl! Whirl!
Till the quick day is done.
Rest at pale evening . . .
A tall, slim tree . . .
Night coming tenderly
Black like me.
